That's What She Said

Firstly I'd like to say so sorry I'v been absent for a while, I'v been having camera troubles and nothing really that exciting to blog about, until about a week ago when SoulPancake and Darling Magazine on YouTube released a video

The video touches on such important subjects such as inner beauty and how we can be strong and confident, regardless of what has happened and what people have said. People can be mean, and all of us are guilty of making judgments based on appearance. The 10 women talk about their own stories, with a few outside words from women on the street.
For years and years we all have been fed lies about how you should look to be considered "beautiful", and sure many people say that inner beauty is what counts but do they really believe it? Young girls around the world struggle with school, and jobs and life in general because they think that if they don't wear that amount of makeup, or have those kinds of jeans they aren't beautiful. It even can go beyond that, to weight and just your natural features, they see what is considered "attractive" and try to copy it, they stop trying to be them, and be original. This is by far one of my favorite things SoulPancake has ever done, and I myself believe every man and woman should watch these and hear these words at least once.
Our media has become so centered around what they're wearing, and how they're hair was styled that we have to actually search to find out who someone really is, because really, it's all about the looks of the person, not who they are.
It's about time we all stopped caring so much what other people think we look like, and be comfortable with who we are, inside and out. We all have beautiful bodies, they all are made specifically for our selves. Every imperfection, is perfection because there is no other that is identical to your own.

Each and every one of us has felt the pressure of looking the best. We take selfies, delete almost or all of them, because they don't look as good as that one persons. We style our hair and makeup because we want to be as beautiful as that one girl, and it's okay to see someone on the street and go "I really like her jeans, I think I might look for a pair like that" But it's not okay to see a girl and go "Oh I wish my eyes were that blue, or my nose was that straight, or my legs that skinny" No, don't do that. Stop.

You are you for a reason. You have a beautiful body, and no one else NEEDS to believe that, but you.

The second video they put up was on body image, how others see you and how you see your self (they have a bit of a theme) and in the beginning (if you watch the video) they have a quote that says:

"We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are."
-Anais Nin-

We decide how we want to be, and how others see us is their own problem. The best we can do is the be the best we can be, and hope the world follows in our footsteps.

In another part of the video a young woman named Natalie Patterson reads some of her poetry, which is absolutely beautiful. So, I looked her up and found some more:

It is rare that I make a promise

Don’t want it to haunt me in the dead of night

Remember that time you said you would, but did not

Rings like C A N C E R to the body

I don’t promise often

Only do what I want, when I want

With a full heart or not at all

And the rest will have to settle somewhere between my lips and my intention

But there comes a day

When I am more than wild woman

More than what I’ve accomplished or seek to and as that day approaches

You should know:

I promise to remember how to love

In the face of hurt in my heart

I will love you

Foolishly at times but brave

I promise to forgive

To ignite the soft of me and surrender to that everything ain’t gonna grow like I grow

Aint gonna know what I know, how I know

And that is ok

There is still love in separation

Still love in letting go

I promise to love myself

To honor this girl with dreams she can’t stomach yet but tries hard to

In the morning, I will pray to a god I hope to be more like and she will laugh knowing I have forgot already that she loves me unconditionally

Just a silly girl wanting more and more and more

But having everything I need already.

I promise to laugh hardest when life is most challenging

I promise to tell strangers they are beautiful because they haven’t heard it in too long

I promise to dance across the floor when i’m excited

I promise to be excited

To sit with my mother to remind her she makes amazing things

To listen to my father, to honor the repetition in his stories

To watch as my nephew as he blossoms

I promise to call my sister

To love her because she grews our family when I might not

And none of this comes easy

None of it will be overnight

I might be sacred and stubborn at first and when I am

I promise to lean into it

To let life make a masterpiece of me

To say what needs to be said in the moment and trust that I am prepared

I promise to listen to the way god moves

I promise to be moved

To not stop noticing the details in the day

The way you hesitate before speaking

Or the nervous girl at the table next to me

I promise to never stop picking up on energy

And feeling responsible for humanity

I promise to let this fire rage

To drink more water and carry this skin like a gift

I promise to breathe on purpose

And fall in love without fear

I promise. I promise. I promise.

So I think you should go check out more of her stuff here and here
So men and women everywhere, I know this was a lengthy post and I promise there will be more on the way, but thanks for reading and be sure to check out all of the That's What She Said videos they can be found on Soul Pancake's channel and Darling Magazine's website (that might be wrong)
Have a wonderful day :)

Winter Fun

Where I live we get a fair amount of snow now and then, and so sledding and snowboarding and skiing are pretty popular, but most of all sledding.
My little brother thinks of it as an Olympic sport so I thought I might take some nice family photos for memories and all that junk...
I was not disappointed:

Very intense.
Very.

The Rickshaw Run

So I am a big fan of travel videos, I mean, I'v talked about mister Louis Cole before (FunForLouis) who is a daily vlogger of his travels across the world and a few others. But something really cool came up about a month (And a half? Can't remember) where the channel JacksGap announced the Rickshaw Run.
If you don't know who JacksGap is a channel run by two brothers

My lovely skills on Paint.
You may not have noticed BUT

They're twins.
ANYWAYS
Finn loves film and does most of the camera work, while Jack is more of an on screen boy. Though both do...both. About a year or two ago they went on a trip to Africa which they had been planning for, and filmed it all, but while they're at home (England) they make little silly videos, including one where Jack tried to convince his viewers that Finn was merely just a silly trick to make his videos more interesting, AKA, not real.
But back to the main event, recently they released a trailer for The Rickshaw Run which is an event that occurs every 6 months (there's a winter and summer one) where teams drive a Rickshaw  across India. The Rickshaws aren't the most dependable vehicle so dangerous accidents have occurred and breakdowns are almost for sure. But the two twins and many other youtubers (Including FunForLouis and Ben Brown) were not afraid....well maybe a little afraid, of the great journey ahead and have spent months and months preparing their project showing us their experience of the Rickshaw Run. The first part came out today and the others are soon to be released. The project is a compilation of all the participants (who are with Jack and Finn) footage, mashed together in videos around 14 minutes long.
If you enjoy these types of videos and enjoy pretty boys and beautiful country sides, then I advise to check out The Rickshaw Run and follow their adventure.

Here is the trailer....

And here is the first part.

That's all

HOW TO: MAKE ANGRY EGGSALAD

FIRST YOU TAKE SOME EGGS

THEN YOU PUT THEM IN A POT OF COLD WATER AND WAIT FOR THEM TO BOIL (SET IT TO MEDIUM HEAT)

WHEN IT BOILS LOWER THE HEAT AND LET THEM STEW IN THEIR OWN FILTH FOR FIVE MINUTES

THEN YOU TAKE THEM AND DRAIN THE WATER, THEN PUT THEM IN WATER AS COLD AS THE HEARTS OF YOUR ENEMIES

THEN PROCEED TO PEEL OFF SHELLS WHEN THEY ARE COOL

CHOP THEM UP AS IF THEY WERE THE FACES OF ALL WHO HAVE WRONGED YOU

THEN ADD MAYONNAISE AND ADDITIONAL SEASONINGS

IT SHOULD END UP LOOKING SOME WHAT LIKE THIS

ENJOY ON BREAD OR CRACKERS

AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE EGGSALAD WELL YOU CAN JUST GO AWAY

Bowties are cool

Yes. This is shameless selfy, but I am excited. So Saturday I did NOT watch the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who because I'm seeing it TONIGHT in theaters, and I'm SO excited that I just had to get my swag on with a bowtie.
That is all.
